This part of Payne's Creek is cleared because it is where the old fort was.  The Seminoles came in here and killed Payne and thus the name of the creek and park.  The memorial to him is pictured below.

OK....so Gizzy thinks that the squirrels at Payne's Creek have the best trees to climb on.
